Question 1

What kind of auction is a GalerimPlus auction?

Accepted Answer

There is one kind: an open ascending auction. An approved dealer puts a car up, bids rise in public view and the highest bid wins when the time runs out.

Question 2

Who can open an auction?

Accepted Answer

Approved dealer accounts only. Opening an auction is free during the beta. Individual members cannot open auctions.

Question 3

Who can bid?

Accepted Answer

Dealer accounts and individual members with Plus. Your account needs a phone number to bid; suspended accounts cannot bid.

Question 4

Is there a deposit or an ID check?

Accepted Answer

No. No deposit is taken and there is no ID check; for individual members, Plus membership is the safeguard. GalerimPlus does not take payments either.

Question 5

Which currency do auctions use?

Accepted Answer

Each auction runs in the currency the dealer listed the car in (mostly pounds sterling, £), and bids are in that currency.

Question 6

How do I bid?

Accepted Answer

Pick a quick step or type an amount on the auction page. A bid must be at least the current price plus the auction's minimum step.

Question 7

Can I offer my car plus cash?

Accepted Answer

No. Auctions take cash bids only; trade-in bids do not exist. Use the separate Takas (trade) section for swaps.

Question 8

What happens if someone bids in the last seconds?

Accepted Answer

Every bid in the last 2 minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes, at most 10 times per auction.

Question 9

What is 'Hemen Al' (Buy Now)?

Accepted Answer

If the seller set a Buy Now price, the member who confirms that price wins the car and the auction ends at once.

Question 10

Can I see the other bidders?

Accepted Answer

Bids and amounts are public; bidders appear by their initials only (for example "A.....Y"). Your own bids are marked as yours.

Question 11

What is the reserve price?

Accepted Answer

A hidden minimum the seller may set. The amount is never shown; the auction page only says whether the reserve is met. Bids below it are allowed.

Question 12

What if the auction ends below the reserve?

Accepted Answer

The seller has 24 hours to accept or reject the highest bid. Accepted, the sale goes ahead; rejected or unanswered within 24 hours, there is no sale.

Question 13

Can the seller end an auction early?

Accepted Answer

Only when there is at least one bid and the reserve is met (or there is none); the highest bid then wins. An auction without bids can be cancelled; one with bids cannot.

Question 14

What happens when I win?

Accepted Answer

You are notified and a deal room opens where you and the seller see each other's name and phone number. You are expected to talk within 48 hours.

Question 15

Where do I pay?

Accepted Answer

GalerimPlus does not take or handle payments. You pay the seller directly; ownership is transferred at a TRNC notary and the vehicle registry.

Question 16

Can I inspect the car first?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can see the car in person and have it checked by an independent inspector.

Question 17

What if the winner backs out?

Accepted Answer

The seller may bring in the second-highest bidder (runner-up), who sees the seller's contact only then.
